Technology Overview

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) separates gas species from mixtures under pressure based on molecular characteristics and adsorbent material affinity. Operating at near-ambient temperatures, this process differs significantly from cryogenic distillation techniques.

The system uses specific adsorptive materials (zeolites, activated carbon, molecular sieves) that preferentially adsorb target gas species at high pressure, then releases them when pressure is reduced. This technology is also used in medical oxygen concentrators.
