Working Principle

The alkaline electrolyzer operates by passing direct current (DC) through an electrolyte solution (typically potassium hydroxide – KOH), which splits water into hydrogen and oxygen:

2H₂O → 2H₂ + O₂

  • Hydrogen is generated at the cathode
  • Oxygen is generated at the anode
  • A diaphragm separates gases to ensure high purity output

The produced hydrogen is then processed through gas-liquid separation, purification, and drying systems to achieve the required purity level.
