PSA Nitrogen Generator process diagram

The process utilizes two vessels filled with Carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS):

  1. Adsorption: Compressed air passes through CMS vessel where oxygen is adsorbed, producing nitrogen
  2. Desorption: When CMS becomes saturated, the process switches to the second vessel while the first regenerates
  3. Regeneration: Nitrogen purges the saturated vessel to regenerate the CMS for the next cycle
